Bringing Style and magnificence together, the Crown Jewels of Bavaria are totally stunning. This talk will cover the jewellery of Therese who married the Crown Prince Ludwig in 1810 through to Crown Princess Antonia of Bavaria in the 1920’s. A magnificent collection of jewellery with a fabulous history that will totally delight.

Josephine Baker – The Queen of Jazz

Josephine Baker, a master of jazz, was a superstar of the Art Deco period. Her jewellery and clothes were exceptional. This talk will cover her jewellery collection which embraced the traditional and creative aspects of design during this period. From diamonds and gemstones to lacquer and bakelite, her collection of jewellery was outstanding.

Tiffany & Co – Part 1 of 3

‘The Rise of Luxury’ 1846-1900

In this first talk about Tiffany & Co we will dive into the foundation of this exceptionally successful company by Charles Lewis Tiffany and John B Young in New York, in 1837. From the rise of the ‘Blue Book Collection’ in 1845, to the Tiffany fancy yellow diamond acquired in 1878 and the Tiffany setting of 1886 for a diamond solitaire, the success of Tiffany before 1900 is astonishing. This talk will also look at the amazing Art Nouveau enamel work by Paulding Farnham that Tiffany became so well known for.

Beautiful Gems Through The Lens of Cecil Beaton

 Beaton photographed the most beautiful women wearing jewellery of exceptional quality. This talk will look at a selection photographed throughout his career and trace the jewellery that they were wearing at the time. Familiar and unfamiliar names will be featured, including The Duchess of Westminster – formerly Miss Loelia Ponsonby, Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Karam Kapurthala, Marisa Berenson, Schiaparelli’s granddaughter, Edith Sitwell, Coco Chanel, Marjorie Merriweather Post, Daisy Fellows and Barbara Hutton to name but a few.

Lectures are individually priced at £42and include tea or coffee on arrival and a complimentary glass of fizz and sandwich lunch after the Talk.

The Gallery doors will open between 11am and 11.15am and the Talk will commence at 11.30am
